How I learned to stop Worrying and BE the BOMB!
Born on the beautiful Island of Aotearoa (New Zealand) in the South Pacific, Eva Sherie grew up the youngest of a large foster family. Initially a shy child, her exotic looks never failed to draw attention, and thus drew her out of her awkward, puberty-stricken shell. Her unusual appearance remained as Eva blossomed into the sultry temptress she is today, commanding adoration and envy wherever you see her.
Eva Strangelove: professional Show-Off.
By her early 20’s, Eva was already an accomplished choreographer and stage manager for fashion events, including group dance choreography and model wrangling (often with up to 40 models/dancers at one time in her charge) for New Zealand fashion labels Freak!Wear and BLACKWEDDING, which included the televised events at the Wellington Botanical Gardens Sound Stage and TePapa National Museum of New Zealand

Meanwhile, Eva had begun modelling for friends who were photographers and hair/make up artists, and thus her skills as a stylist were thrown into the spotlight, (not to mention her natural prowess as a model) and her circle extended to include costumiers, corset makers, artists, film makers and fashion designers. Eva knew that her eye for aesthetics should be melded with her own movement. She says this about her move into the world of burlesque: “I needed to take my pin-up modelling to the next step, and make it more ‘live action’, and I wanted to strongly incorporate the potential of ‘real strip-tease’ that is not being met in modern strip clubs (have always been fascinated with and known the effect a woman has while disrobing properly). And after researching classical striptease styles and history, I discovered Burlesque and hence, my calling.” Not a stranger to the art of seduction, Eva’s impossibly alluring and elegant, yet humorous and approachable style, has alone garnered her much attention and adoration… from men and women alike.
Eva Strangelove: Weapon of mass Distraction.
As a model, Eva pleased the eye and the imagination, but the limits of her personal expression were yet to be realised. A lifelong lover of dance, Eva breathed life into her still images by way of her first Burlesque troupe, “The Sisters of Strange Love”, the popular brainchild created alongside Ponie Ryder (costumier Flo Foxworthy) and Courtney L’Amour. The first performance of the SOSL debuted what Eva is now widely known for: her cheeky Feather Fan Dance. She then went on to establish herself as a competent solo artist, creating a season of sell-out shows for the 2007 and 2008 New Zealand fringe festivals. Since then her Burlesque career has snowballed.
Eva’s keen eye for costuming and design, along with her slow, melty choreography infused with her distinct sense of humour, very quickly put her in the forefront of the Burlesque world in her homeland, New Zealand. It was only natural that she should gain the same notoriety wherever she went. And she has… throughout New Zealand, Australia, California, Arizona, and Texas, where she has recently relocated.
